Day Camp for Therapy Animals and Adventure Pets

Practical training for your pet. Peace of mind and freedom for you.

 

You didn’t bring home your dog or cat to spend every day telling them no.

You brought them home to share your life, your home, and maybe even your calling.

​

Whether your goal is therapy animal visits, off-leash adventures, or simply a more peaceful home, Day Camp gives your pet the structure, skills, and confidence they need and gives you the time and support to enjoy them again.​​

A consultation is required before enrolling in any Day Camp program.

How It Works

Training takes place Tuesdays through Thursdays, typically between 10:00am and 2:30pm.
Start and end times may vary depending on your pet’s needs, location, and field trip plans.

I’ll come to your home in the Cedar Rapids area to pick up your pet in the morning and spend the day working with them one-on-one in real-life settings.

​

Depending on your goals, training might happen:

  • At your home or in your neighborhood (to build calm routines and address specific behavior challenges)

  • Out in the community—parks, patios, trails, and stores—for real-world skill practice

​

Your pet may train solo or occasionally with one other Day Camp client alongside my own experienced pets. Every session is tailored, structured, and focused on building real-life confidence.

Throughout the program, you’ll receive:

  • Video updates so you can see your pet’s progress

  • Simple coaching notes to reinforce training at home

  • Ongoing support via text or email for questions, wins, or adjustments

​

Fridays are available for hands on Camp Follow Up coaching to help reinforce progress or address specific needs.

The Explorer

6 Weeks of Day Camp + 3 Camp Follow Ups

 

For dogs and cats who need better leash skills, home manners, or emotional regulation.

Training focus:

  • Loose leash walking

  • Calm greetings

  • “Place,” stay, drop, leave it, off

  • Early recall

  • Relaxation in new environments

​

Includes:

  • 18 Day Camp training days

  • At least 6 field trips

  • Regular videos + progress guides

  • Three private Camp Follow Ups

  • Premium remote collar (if appropriate)

  • 2 months KCAT Club access

  • Lifetime access to monthly Pet Socials

The Adventurer

For pets working toward therapy animal certification, advanced outings, or off-leash skills.

  • Public access preparation

  • Therapy animal readiness or CGC/trick certification

Day Camp Brush Up

** Day Camp Brush Ups are only available to clients that have already completed a training package with King's Creatures or are currently enrolled in the King's Creatures Adventure Team Club.**

 

This package includes one week of Day Camp training days. Use this for:

  • Refreshing polite manners

  • Practicing in new environments

  • Rebooting recall or focus after a busy season

Includes:

  • 3 days of Day Camp training + field trip

  • Video update

  • Brief progress plan

The Details

  • All pets in your home must be current on vaccines and a fecal exam within the past year showing no parasites

    • Dogs must be current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccines

    • Cats must be current on rabies and FVRCP vaccines

    • Titer results accepted for any vaccine besides rabies

  • A consultation is required before enrolling in any program

  • 25% package payment is due at booking (nonrefundable)

  • Only 2 Day Camp clients accepted at a time

  • Travel fees may apply outside of Cedar Rapids
