I own King's Creatures Animal Training, a pet training company based in Cedar Rapids, IA. I am a certified professional dog trainer and I just finished serving as the Director of Oversight for the International Association of Canine Professionals Therapy Dog Committee.
Over the past decade, I have worked with parrots, chickens, raptors, lemurs, marmosets, sugar gliders, otters, snakes, lizards, deer, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, camels, donkeys, tarantulas, cockroaches, skunks, rats, raccoons, cats, and dogs -- just to name a few! I utilize that wide variety of animal training experience to work with people and their pets to become an Adventure Team that wholeheartedly trusts each other.
I live in Iowa with my husband, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. (You guessed it! Mai is one of those cats!) We love adventuring across the country with our pets, supporting the Living Creatures Ministry therapy animal program, and spending lazy days with all 7 of us snuggled up on the couch.

I saw these two sentences come to life every single day that I worked as a zookeeper, a trainer for exotic animal shows, a dog trainer at a facility that rehabilitated aggressive dogs, and an animal shelter technician before launching King's Creatures.

That's why I founded King's Creatures Animal Training!
As I dove into training clients in group classes and board and trains, I quickly realized those services simply weren't the best way to set my clients and their pets up for long term success.
So...
I knew animals and owners both learned more quickly when we started in a comfortable, low-distraction environment — their own home! — and then prepared them to head out and about to higher distraction areas. I started creating programs that allowed pets and their people to do just that!
And it worked!
I have crafted the Trail to Success for the King's Creatures Adventure Team Club to help dog and cat owners just like you transform their pets into therapy animals and adventure pets without overwhelming you or your pet! The results my members get each month show that these steps can work for any Adventure Team!
