The Challenge: Balancing Your Career, Your Pets, and Your Desire to Serve Others
I understand the challenges that come with a bustling career and a longing to give back to your community by volunteering with your pet at your side!
But how do you find the time and resources to train your dog and cat, pick out a therapy animal certifying organization, and actually visit facilities?
The answer is here!
Beyond the Vest: Becoming the BEST EVER Therapy Animal Team!
Daily lives with Laura King on your lunchbreak!
Join us daily at 1pm Central for step by step coaching from Laura so you can ask questions, get real answers, and connect with the workshop community.

Laura's training background is as diverse as it gets, from training with tarantulas and camels to handling feral cats and certifying therapy dogs. Whether you have a dog, a cat, or both, this workshop will cater to the qualities of each species as you prepare to serve together as a therapy animal-handler team.
Struggling to decide which organization to certify with or even what to focus on during your training time? Beyond the Vest will help you get clarity on your goals so you can make the best decisions for both you and your pets!
I know you're busy! That's why our workshop consists of 1-hour live sessions for 5 days, making it easy to fit into your routine. Plus, you'll have access to the replays so you can easily catch up if you miss a session!
You CAN fit training into your busy schedule!
Join the only free workshop that shows dog & cat owners how to train their pets to be therapy animals and how to become a calm, confident team that can enjoy all of life's adventures together Beyond the Vest!
How many smiles could you bring to the faces of people in your community if you could train your pet to be a therapy animal?
How much less stress (and more fun!) would there be in your life if you could get your pet to calmly and confidently enjoy each and every day at your side, instead of misbehaving over and over again?
Learn how to become a team with your pet so you both can serve your community and enjoy your lives together!
But that's not all...
Attend this workshop and you'll also get:

adventures with your pet at your side!
I founded the KCAT Club to help dog and cat owners train their pets to be therapy animals and adventure pets. I love helping my clients set their pets up for success through responsible pet ownership and compassionate training.
Whether you are planning a camping trip with your cat or working on a therapy dog certification with your dog, this Club will give you step by step training plans to help you reach your goals and give you the accountability you need to help you stay on track... all on your own schedule!
I own King's Creatures Animal Training, a pet training company based in Cedar Rapids, IA. I am a certified professional dog trainer and a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals where I have served as the Chair of the Therapy Dog Committee and a member of the Board of Directors.
Over the past decade, I have worked with parrots, chickens, raptors, lemurs, marmosets, sugar gliders, otters, snakes, lizards, deer, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, camels, donkeys, tarantulas, cockroaches, skunks, rats, raccoons, cats, and dogs -- just to name a few! I utilize that wide variety of animal training experience to work with people and their pets to become an Adventure Team that wholeheartedly trusts each other.
I live in Iowa with my husband, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. We love adventuring across the country with our pets, supporting the Living Creatures Ministry therapy animal program, and spending lazy days with all 7 of us snuggled up on the couch.
